Hawaiian Airlines welcomes a new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner making it the third of it’s family
Posted on May 20, 2025 in NewsOn March 26 2025, Hawaiian Airlines received its third Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. The aircraft, registered as N782HA, completed a nearly 10-hour journey from Charleston International Airport to Daniel K. Inouye International Airport in Honolulu. This delivery arrives just weeks before the airline plans to introduce the Dreamliner on its Honolulu to New York JFK route, replacing its Airbus A330 aircraft.
The airline’s Dreamliner service is set to run between Honolulu and New York City from April 22nd to August 20th, 2025. Flights from Daniel K. Inouye International Airport take off in the afternoon, traveling overnight to reach New York City by morning. The return flight from JFK Airport departs in the morning and touches down in Honolulu in the early afternoon.
Hawaiian Airlines’ Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners are configured to hold 300 passengers across two classes. The aircraft includes 34 business class seats, each offering direct aisle access. The remaining 266 seats make up the economy section, which is split into Extra Comfort and Main Cabin seating options.
Hawaiian Airlines is expanding its long-haul operations with new routes from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport to Seoul Incheon and Tokyo Narita, utilizing its widebody aircraft. These flights are being marketed by the broader Alaska Air Group, following Hawaiian’s merger with Alaska Airlines last year. Since joining forces, the two carriers have strengthened their collaboration in route and fleet planning, creating greater synergy in their network strategy. Additionally, Hawaiian has introduced equipment changes on its Honolulu-New York route.
