B767 & B717

Hawaiian Airlines relies on Boeing B717s to keep its Neighbor Island service running smoothly, offering fast and frequent flights. These aircraft collectively handle more than 160 takeoffs and landings daily. Surprisingly, just 20 planes manage this high volume, thanks to the B717-200’s design, which is optimized for short distances and frequent departures.

In 2015, the entire fleet underwent a complete interior refurbishment, featuring modernized aesthetics, newly designed seats, sturdy aluminum tray tables, and a refreshed color scheme. A redesign of the exterior soon followed, with the updated look rolling out in 2017.

Though flights between the islands are brief, the B717-200 stands out for its efficiency and reliability, ensuring passengers reach their destinations quickly. The aircraft accommodates up to 128 travelers in a 2-3 Main Cabin seating arrangement.

The Boeing 767-300ER aircraft is an essential jet that helped expand the airline’s global reach and deliver its signature hospitality to millions of travelers. This widebody, twin-engine aircraft became part of the fleet in 2001, replacing the DC-10s and ushering in a new era of aviation innovation at the dawn of the 21st century. Although, the aircraft retired in 2019 for the newer models of Airbus and the Dreamliner.
